No matter how hard I tried, I could not find a single story to write about other than this dance video made from Alexandria-Ocasio Cortez. Apparently, according to sites such as the Washington Post or the NYT, Republicans have been bashing this video released earlier this week that showcases AOC dancing in college.
This video was made by AOC whilst she was in college. It was reported to have been leaked by right-wing media sites and bashed by prominent Republicans in an ill-fated attempt to embarrass her. Whilst I do not know if the video was in fact used in an attempt to embarrass her, or if she leaked it herself in order to make herself more personable, I do know that I have not seen one single Republican make fun of this video. I have watched Fox News, checked all the OANN hosts on twitter, scrolled through comments, and whilst I did find some memes that seemed to be mocking the situation, there has not been any serious critiques of her dancing. Personally, I actually thought the video of her dancing to a Breakfast Club scene was incredibly cute and inspiring. I do not agree with her policies, but her life choices are quite frankly, none of my business. I do not care that she can dance.
Honestly the thing that most aggravates me about her dancing is the fact that it is 99% of my twitter feed, 60% of my news coverage, and I can’t find a single decent or interesting story aside from that video. Many conservatives actually were supportive of AOC’s dancing, saying we need more of it in Congress to make our Representatives and Senators seem human.
In fact, in honor of that claim and to prove that our Senators and Congressmen/women are not robots sent from another galaxy to destroy our country, here are some lovely pictures of politicians dancing!
